Imani earned a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from Hofstra University. Imani has extensive pre-graduate training in psychotherapy specializing in individual psychotherapy and enjoys working with adults who are looking for more meaning in their lives. Imani also has several years of experience working with adolescents between the ages of 5-18 in school settings.
Imani specializes in working with individuals who are committed to exploring their journey through life through self examination. She finds that self examination allows enhanced ability to navigate through emotional difficulties when faced with unprecedented circumstances and challenges. Imani believes that everyone has the power to change when given the opportunity and the resources. In session, Imani is empathic, supportive and actively engaged, exploring how your individual story may play a role in shaping your beliefs and behaviors.
Prior to Gotham, Imani held clinical positions in addition to serving as the Program Director for the Right at School Before and After School program. Serving as program director enhanced her clinical skills and added to her understanding of overall human and child development from a psychodynamic perspective.
